Art Fair Philippines 2021
art/n23 presents the work of Paris-based Filipino photographer Ding Gerrous during Art Fair Philippines 2021, where we have been selected for the Julius Baer special photo exhibit. Ding is a Filipino photographer based in Paris, specialized in an old photographic process called wet plate collodion. Images produced go direct through the camera on glass plates resulting in an ambrotype on glass. In a sense, it is the ancestor of film as we know it. He uses recuperated glass from Parisian windows. All of his works, whether portrait or conceptual photography, are unique pieces.
To adapt during the lockdown, we have partnered with Gerrous to produce virtual Zoom portrait sittings. Sitters will need a decent Internet connection, natural or spot light, and a phone or computer camera. Portraits may be done with props, favourite art works, or friends and family members. The sittings take 20 to 30 minutes after which sitters will receive digital proofs and be shipped their glass portraits of 5x7 inches. Book your sitting now!
